Job summary

The Waterford on Huebner in San Antonio, TX is hiring a Culinary Services Cook for our independent living community. You will plan, prepare, and serve meals with a focus on nutrition, organization, and sanitary standards.

Qualifications include a High School diploma and a Food Service Sanitation Certificate; experience in high-volume meal prep and some supervision is preferred. We offer competitive wages, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred; ability to read recipes, work in a team, handle multiple tasks, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director to maintain an efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services including service delivery, customer service and cleanliness.
• Cleans after preparation and service; maintains area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
