Job summary

Southern Meadows, a Sonida Senior Living community in Mountain Home, Arkansas, seeks a Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for residents with safety and sanitation in mind. You will assist the Culinary Services Director, uphold dining room and kitchen standards, and work with a team to deliver high-quality service.

Prior volume meal prep, teamwork, and good communication are valued, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate per State/Local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal preparation and serving for large groups preferred.
• Some supervisory experience is a plus; ability to read recipes and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve attractive, nutritious meals in a sanitary manner.
• Assist the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an organized Dining Services department.
• Prepare meals for assigned shifts and ensure timely service.
• Maintain dining room and kitchen standards for residents, focusing on service and cleanliness.
• Clean work areas and equipment after preparation and service; store leftovers properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
