Job summary

Vintage Gardens, a premier retirement community in St. Joseph, MO, is seeking a dedicated Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare and serve enticing meals for residents, while maintaining sanitary and organized dining operations.

The role supports the Dining Services department under the Culinary Services Director, delivering high-quality meals, excellent customer service, and efficient service within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience in volume meal preparation for large groups.
• Supervisory experience preferred; ability to read recipes, work in a team, and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assist the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place
