Job summary

SOUTHERN MEADOWS, a Sonida Senior Living community in Mountain Home, AR, is seeking a Cook for our Culinary Services team. You will plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals, assisting the Culinary Services Director to maintain an organized Dining Services department.

We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for training. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent and a Food Service Sanitation Certificate, with experience in large-volume meal prep and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required per state/local.
• Experience with volume meal prep for large groups preferred.
• Ability to read and understand recipes and work in a team.
• Flexible shifts and effective communication

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in a sanitary, timely manner.
• Assist the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an organized Dining Services department.
• Prepare and serve meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintain dining standards: service, customer service, cleanliness of dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; maintain area and equipment.
• Ensure leftovers are covered, labeled, dated, and stored properly.

Culinary Services Cook Responsibilities Include

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
