Job summary

The Woodlands of Columbus, part of Sonida Senior Living, is seeking a Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in a sanitary, timely manner.

You will assist the Culinary Services Director, maintain dining standards for residents, supervise shifts as needed, and ensure leftovers are properly labeled and stored, while contributing to a positive dining experience for our residents.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal preparation for large groups preferred.
• Some supervisory experience helpful; ability to read recipes and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to Residents including service and cleanliness.
• Cleans after preparation and service; maintains work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
