Job summary

fhcexternal is seeking a Culinary Services Aide to perform assigned work in the culinary department, ensuring resident safety and compliance with standards. You will assist cooks, prepare and serve meals, set up dining areas, and maintain sanitation through cleaning duties.

The role requires able English reading, writing and speaking, prior institutional dietary service experience is a plus, and ServeSafe certification is preferred to support safe food handling and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Previous institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• ServeSafe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned.
• Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Follow Federal and State regulations and Culinary Services Department policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging trays, loading food carts, and serving meals.
• Setting up the dining room and serving residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Attend in-service educational programs.
• Follow defined safety codes and infection control procedures.
• Understand and follow the facility's fire, disaster plans and emergencies.
• Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Facility rules and procedures.
• Perform other department duties as directed by Chef Manager/Culinary Director.
• Comply with HR, Code of Ethics, HIPAA, and accreditation standards.
• Attend department meetings and pursue required certifications/licenses as applicable.
