Job summary

Westminster Suncoast in St. Petersburg is seeking a Cooks Assistant 1 to support daily culinary production under the Chef and cooks. You’ll help with menu prep, salads, and hot foods, following recipes and production sheets.

This full‑time role runs 7:30am–5pm with rotating weekends; you’ll work in a busy kitchen, maintain product freshness, safety, and cleanliness, and contribute to high‑quality meals for residents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a full service culinary or food service environment.
• Florida Safe Staff Certification required, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares ingredients and food items according to recipes, production sheets, and instructions from the Chef.
• Performs basic preparation of both hot and cold foods, including vegetables, fruits, salads, sandwiches, sauces, soups, starches, proteins, and other menu items.
• Maintains clean and sanitary workstations, equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas throughout the shift.
• Properly labels, dates, stores, and rotates prepared food and ingredients using established procedures.
• Monitors food preparation and temperature to ensure quality and safety.
