Job summary

Smith College in Northampton, MA is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support food preparation and service during assigned shifts within Dining Services. You will work cooperatively with staff to maintain a safe, sanitary dining area and follow department policies, under the guidance of the chef on duty and area manager.

You may assume dining room coordinator duties during peak service and assist with inventory, receiving and event prep.

Qualifications

• High school or vocational education completed.
• Minimum 1 year combined educational/commercial cooking experience.
• Sanitation certificate required.
• Culinary arts degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all food preparation and service during assigned shifts.
• Clean and sanitize dining service areas and equipment.
• Assist in inventory, receiving, and storage of food and supplies.
