Qualifications

• Completion of high school education or vocational school education or 1 year of combined educational and/or commercial experience in a kitchen; current state approved sanitation certificate within 1 year of hiring.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guest satisfaction by cleaning and sanitizing all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, and kitchen utensils.
• Maintain the dishwashing station, three compartment sink and related areas.
• Ensure equipment is clean and in working condition and report issues to management.
• Train, instruct, and develop competent student workers with staff coordinators.
• Assist in routine cleaning and organizing refrigerators and freezers.
• Assist with inventories.
• Clean and sanitize Dining Rooms and Service areas, including floor maintenance.
• Restock service ware and replenish containers during busy meal periods.
• Communicate accurately and professionally with others; label and date foods.
• Assist culinary staff in food preparation tasks such as chopping, cleaning, peeling.
• Collaborate with Dining Room Coordinator and Student Manager on developing student workers.
• Coordinate with Area Manager and staff to ensure orderly operations.
• Review departmental notices; use college email and systems responsibly.
• Attend meetings and trainings; participate in special events as needed.
• Complete payroll and scheduling forms by deadlines; perform other related tasks.
• Initiate teamwork and cooperation among coworkers.
