Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a part-time Cooks Assistant at Prairieview Lutheran Homes in Danforth, IL. The role supports the Cook in meal prep, kitchen safety, and adherence to dietary requirements for residents.

Responsibilities include food preparation for breakfast and lunch, maintaining logs, and ensuring sanitation and cleanliness of the workspace. Excellent customer service and prior cooking experience are preferred, with a sanitation license a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Previous cooking experience preferred.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a Sanitation license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with kitchen setup and equipment to run efficiently.
• Record and maintain temperatures of equipment and food in logs.
• Follow portions and diet plans per Federal and State guidelines.
• Prepare palatable, presentable hot and cold foods for residents, families and staff.
• Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and supplies after shift.
• Assist cook with breakfast and lunch preparation.
• Handle salads, meats, baking and prep of raw fruits/vegetables.
• Prepare salad bar presentation as needed.
• Adhere to call-in procedures and be flexible to staffing changes.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
