Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking an Assistant Cook to support the Cook in preparing meals for residents, families and staff. You will follow dietary specifications, maintain logs, and ensure sanitary procedures are met.

Record temperatures, portions, and logs; assist with salads and daily menu items. A high school diploma is preferred, cooking experience is desirable, and the candidate must hold or obtain a Sanitation license.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a Sanitation license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Cook in preparing meals according to dietary regulations for residents.
• Prepare hot and cold foods for residents, families and staff.
• Follow food safety protocols and sanitation procedures; clean and sanitize work areas.
• Record temperatures and portions in logs; monitor portions and diet plans.
• Prepare salads, raw/cooked meats, and salad bar items as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and sanitizing area at end of shift.

Under the direct supervision of the Food Services Director/Assistant, the Assistant Cook assists the Cook in preparing food in accordance with Resident Diet Specifications, facility procedures, and prescribed dietary and sanitary regulations.Preparation of kitchen, including supplies and equipment to run efficientlyRecord and maintain temperatures of equipment and food in appropriate logsFollow and monitor portions and diet plans according to Federal and State guidelinesPrepare palatable, presentable hot and cold foods for residents, families and staff according to appropriate dietsFollow all food safety protocolsFollow all proper cleaning/sanitation procedures and thoroughly clean and sanitize personal work areas, equipment, and suppliesPrepares and assists cook in preparation of breakfast and lunchPrepares cold salads, hot/cold/raw meats, baking and the handling of raw fruits and vegetablesPrepare and assist with salad bar presentationClean, sweep and sanitize your area at the end of each shiftBe open and flexible to changes in positions and duties for the appropriate staffing situationHold self-accountable for following the appropriate call-in proceduresAll other duties as assignedHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredExcellent customer service skillsPrevious cooking experience preferredMust hold or be willing to obtain a Sanitation license
