Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Culinary Lead in our restaurant to guide a well-run kitchen and ensure top-quality customer service. You will train Partners, supervise in the Manager's absence, and support inventory and catering orders.

You will lead with a focus on recipe execution, food safety, sanitation, and equipment operation while maintaining strong relationships with customers and driving efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive culinary knowledge required.
• Understanding of nutritional values, ingredients and cooking processes.
• Advanced communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Advanced culinary/food processing skills and recipe conversions.
• Advanced organization and planning skills; strong reading/writing.
• Ability to lead a restaurant function and train staff.
• Ability to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
• Ability to execute high-volume production and troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Builds strong relationships with customers in varying situations.
• Provides work direction and training; directly supervises Partners.
• Trains Partners on recipe execution, food safety and sanitation.
• Supports management; may serve as backup to Manager.
• Assists in inventory control and purchasing duties.
• Assists with catering orders and ensures back of house support.
• Delivers internal customer service and maintains food freshness.
• Addresses complaints and resolves issues to build relationships.
• Performs front and back of house duties as needed.
