Job summary

Sur La Table, a leading culinary retailer, is seeking a Culinary Lead to inspire customers and support the Resident Chef in driving business results across culinary classes and staff management.

You will coach and develop culinary employees, maintain sanitary operations, and collaborate with departments to ensure policy adherence and superb customer experiences. 21+ and culinary credentials required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 Years progressively responsible kitchen operations or kitchen management experience.
• Culinary degree or equivalent Sous Chef experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Valid Food Handlers / Food Managers Certification.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Demonstrated successful teaching and training experience.
• Proven ability to drive sales and motivate teams.
• Proven training and communication skills.
• Proven leadership and financial management skills.

Responsibilities

• Models and directs employees to ensure customer service standards are met.
• Delivers and holds employees accountable for an exceptional cooking class experience.
• Supports and delivers training for all employees.
• Maintains sanitary conditions and proper storage, prep and service procedures.
• Ensures items are cooked and served at correct temperatures.
• Communicates SOPs and company policies to staff.
• Provides coaching and performance feedback to culinary employees.
• Directs culinary staff to execute sales plans and grow class and retail sales.
• Maintains product knowledge and seeks additional resources as needed.
• Manages time and attendance records and staff information.
