Job summary

Saddleback College, in the Culinary Arts Program, seeks a Project Specialist (Dishwasher) to support kitchen operations and maintain sanitation in a fast-paced teaching kitchen. You will work as part of a team to ensure a safe, hygienic environment for students, faculty, and staff, handling dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.

The role is a short-term, hourly Non-Bargaining Unit assignment, with up to 25 hours weekly and varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic sanitation and kitchen cleanliness.
• Safe handling of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Proper operation of commercial dishwashing machines.
• Awareness of food safety guidelines and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate and maintain commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of food prep and storage areas.
• Restock cleaned kitchenware in proper storage areas.
• Assist with cleaning floors, walls, counters, and other surfaces.
• Follow safety procedures and report malfunctions or safety concerns.
