Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living in Minnesota is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support the kitchen, dining room, dish room, and related areas under the direction of the Culinary Coordinator. This role helps ensure a high-quality dining experience for residents while maintaining cleanliness and food safety.

Ideal candidates are high school students (14+) pursuing a diploma, with good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school student (14+) working toward diploma; follow state employment rules.
• Good communication, organizational and listening skills.
• Calm, friendly demeanor with patience and flexibility.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred experience in elderly care or hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up dining room; serve residents and transport food.
• Set and clear tables; wash dishes; keep kitchen and dining spaces clean.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene; use PPE and follow hair covering and hand protection rules.
• Report unsafe conditions and respond to alarms or emergencies.
• Attend staff meetings and bi-weekly in-services.
• Assist with scheduled activities and special events.
• Follow Policies & Procedures and comply with state assisted living regulations.
