Job summary

Sinclair College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Culinary Arts courses at multiple locations in Ohio. The role supports the Sinclair Culinary Arts Program and includes day, evening, and weekend face-to-face instruction at partner correctional institutions.

The starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. Candidates must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky or be able to work within those states. Employment is restricted to those states for tax and benefits compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in the content area or related field required; bachelor’s degree in the content area preferred.
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • Professionalism and outstanding written and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to teach in a face-to-face environment required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning.
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate.
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs.
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester.

Position Summary

The Sinclair Culinary Arts Program provides the basic knowledgea student needs to develop into a certified chef. Sinclair iscurrently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach CulinaryArts courses. This position will teach face-to-face for day,evening, and weekend courses at our partner correctionalinstitution:

  • Ohio Reformatory for Women – Marysville, OH
  • Pickaway Correctional – Orient, OH

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.
