Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning.
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate.
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student notes.

Position Summary

The Sinclair Mathematics Department is currently seekingpart-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face for day, evening,and weekend courses at our partner correctional institutions:

  • Allen Correctional – Lima, Ohio
  • Correctional Reception Center – Orient, Ohio
  • Franklin Medical Center – Columbus, Ohio
  • Madison Correctional – London, Ohio
  • Ohio Reformatory for Women – Marysville, Ohio
  • Pickaway Correctional – Columbus (Orient), Ohio

The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hourassigned to teach.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s notes
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of a master’s degree in mathematics or statistics, or amaster’s degree with 18 graduate credit semester hours inmathematics or statistics is required
