Job summary

Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) seeks a full-time Culinary Arts instructor to teach across face-to-face, hybrid, video conferencing, live virtual, and online formats. You will evaluate student progress, maintain gradebooks, and ensure alignment with IWCC policies.

Responsibilities include organizing labs, meeting faculty standards, delivering quality programs, and supporting student success toward graduation while upholding confidentiality and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in the discipline.
• 18 undergraduate credit hours in the discipline.
• Associate degree in the discipline with 3000 hours of relevant work experience.
• Special training and 6000 hours of relevant tested work experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach Culinary Arts classes as assigned by the academic dean.
• Evaluate and report student performances and progress.
• Meet minimum faculty standards for hire and adhere to policies.
• Promote, develop, and deliver quality education programs to retain students to graduation.
• Demonstrate IWCC’s core mission, vision, and values.
• Use LMS: post syllabus, record attendance, maintain gradebook.
• Assess and document student learning outcomes termly.
• Organize and teach labs as assigned.
• Complete required professional development and trainings.
• Answer student questions outside class time (in person, phone, web, email).
• Help students achieve educational and career goals and refer to college resources.
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA and Title IX; adhere to safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
