Job summary

Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) seeks an instructor to teach Culinary Arts across face-to-face, hybrid, video conferencing, live virtual, and online platforms. You will evaluate and report student progress, meet minimum faculty standards, and promote quality programs aligned with IWCC’s mission.

Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills are essential, as is proficiency with MS Office and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people.
• Strong organizational skills including multitasking, meeting deadlines, and managing files.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Teach career and technical education (CTE) courses as assigned by the academic dean.
• Depending upon discipline, meet one of the degree or work-experience requirements.
• Be available to answer student questions outside of class time (conferences on campus, via phone, web conferencing, or email).
• Promote, develop, and deliver quality education programs to retain students to graduation.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality per FERPA and Title IX.
• Maintain current gradebooks, rosters, and course assessments per college policies.
• Organize and teach labs as assigned by the academic dean.
• Complete required professional development and trainings.
• Promote academic integrity and professional demeanor.
• Help students achieve educational and career goals; refer to college resources.
