Job summary

The Colorado State Veterans Community Living Center at Rifle is seeking a dedicated kitchen helper to assist cooks in delivering nutritious meals for residents. You will help with food prep, meal service, dishwashing, sanitation, and stock management in a high-standard, VA-regulated setting.

Part of a compassionate team serving veterans and eligible family members, this role requires attention to safety, accuracy in portioning, and the ability to follow recipes and State/Fed regulatory

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in an occupational field related to the work.
• CDPHE recognized food safety certification may substitute for experience.
• Preference for ServSafe certification or hospital/living center experience.
• Knowledge of sanitation and infection control regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks with meal preparation and service.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitary dining areas.
• Stock and inventory items; ensure supplies for meals.
• Assist in food handling, safety, and portioning according to recipes.
