Job summary

Equus is seeking a Student WBL/ Cook Helper to support our Job Corps program in Dayton, OH. The role involves assisting in meal preparation, helping with kitchen and cafeteria activities, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for trainees.

Must be a Culinary Arts student (DJCC) and hold or be pursuing Serve Safe Food Handler certification. The position is hourly pay between USD 17.00 and USD 17.20, with duties including inventory, record keeping, and safe food handling as part of daily

Qualifications

• Must be a Culinary Arts student in DJCC program.
• Serve Safe Food Handler certification is required or in-progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals for trainees.
• Assist in kitchen and cafeteria activities while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Maintain proper storage of leftovers and ensure food temperature controls are met.
• Prepare monthly inventories and record usage of leftovers.
• Record number of meals served and staff/visitor counts.
• Operate food service equipment safely (meat slicer, blender, mixer, ovens, etc.).
