Job summary

UPMC Southwestern PA invites applications for a one-year non-ACGME fellowship in Cardiothoracic Critical Care. Trainees will be immersed in a high-volume CTICU to develop advanced knowledge, technology, and procedural skills for cardiothoracic patients including post-cardiotomy cases and ECMO support.

Board-certified or board-eligible intensivists will gain leadership experience in a busy CTICU, with dedicated time for rounding autonomy, ECMO management, and night coverage while collaborating

Qualifications

• Immersive one-year CTICU fellowship for board-certified or board-eligible intensivists.
• Non-ACGME program focusing on advanced knowledge, technology, and skills in CTICU care.
• Program highlights include high-volume, high-acuity CTICU exposure.

Responsibilities

• Spend months in a 28-bed CTICU gaining in-depth pathology knowledge and management skills.
• Participate in ECMO consults and cardiogenic shock team activities.
• Direct supervision of residents and fellows in clinical rounds and case discussions.
• Cover CTICU nights with independent patient management and transfers as needed.
