Job summary

Allendale is seeking a Job Coach to support students at work or educational training sites. The role involves orienting students, developing individual training plans, and training them with emphasis on safety and task analysis.

You will track progress with quarterly assessments and assist with payroll and coordination with the treatment team. You may transport students to various locations, maintain vehicles, and support classroom management as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education or five years of experience.
  • Must pass ETS Para Pro Assessment with 460+ or ACT Work Keys as specified.
  • Proficiency in managing safety and behavior in classroom settings.

Responsibilities

GENERAL FUNCTIONThe Job Coach provides support and supervision for students at work or educational training site. Duties may also include transporting students to and from various community locations, when staff holds bus driver certification.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES1. Learn job site; perform task analysis of job.2. Orient students to job site.3. Develop individual job training plans for students in small group and/or one-on-one situations. Train students on job site using current best practices and task analysis with emphasis on job safety.4. Track student performance; develop performance goals for students by completing quarterly situational assessment for client workers. Complete payroll & pay generator on a bi-weekly basis.5. Maintain communication with members of treatment team.6. Maintain excellent working relationship with host business and answer questionsthe public may have.7. Transport students to and from job/educational sites.8. Monitor the assigned vehicle for safety and maintenance needs and report deficiency to appropriate department.9. Maintain regular daily attendance.10. Provide general care and maintenance for on campus work sites:Greenhouse e.g. planting, transplanting, propagation, watering, and sweeping.Shops: e.g. monitoring of hand and power tools, maintain proper storage of equipment, assist in unloading and storage of supplies.Dining hall: monitor dishwashing machine, cleaning supplies, floor polisher, and other equipment.Grounds: storage of hand tools, mowers, weed whips, and gasoline.11. Participate in school and agency training programs.12. May be needed to provide assistance and support in the implementation of classroom management and reinforcement systems, which are congruent with all other program areas. This includes ability to physically restrain acting out students per safety and behavior management standards.13. Assist the Director of Career Technical Educator Department (CTE) in assessing students with the Aviator.EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCEA. REQUIRED: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education orfive years of experience.orPass the ETS Para Pro Assessment, 460 or higher. (Official score report)orPass the applicable ACT Work Keys assessments (Applied Mathematics – 4, Reading – 4, Writing/Business Writing -3, and acceptable on the Instructional Support Inventory (official ACT Work Keys Proficiency Certificate for Teacher Assistants).
