Qualifications

• Alaska Teaching certificate with an endorsement in a CTE field preferred.
• Minimum of Alaska Type M certification in area of CTE required or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
• Knowledge & experience with culturally safe and responsive practices preferred.
• Knowledge & experience in trauma engaged practices preferred.
• Positive school climate and restorative practices preferred.
• Inupiaq, Language, History & Culture experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Consult with the Qatqi..iaġvik CTE Director and Manager in program development.
• Creates an authentic, consistent, strength-based culturally safe and responsive instructional environment for learning and instruction program plan through collaboration with staff, students, families, and community that provides expectations and success criteria.
• Encourage and support a Grow Your Own career path for middle school and high school students.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with North Slope entities to grow a Qatqi..iaġvik and CTE program that meets the goals of the students and the needs of the eight communities within the North Slope.
• Promote and support School District Goals as defined in the Board of Education Strategic Plan.
• Participate in the activities of educational committees and organizations for the benefit of the District, the Qatqi..iaġvik program, personal growth and the general promotion of the profession.
