Job summary

Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Specialist, Career and Technical Education to support CTE programs by coaching teachers and aligning curricula, while assisting Directors with program operations.

Responsibilities include facilitating curriculum design, liaison with schools, staff development, and coordinating resources and recruitment efforts; travel to schools is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s preferred).
• Five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
• Florida Department of Education Certification in a Career and Technical Education program.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates curriculum writing, alignment, and implementation of CTE programs; models best practices.
• Serves as a liaison between the CTE office and the schools.
• Supports CTE in all aspects of design and implementation.
• Coordinates and/or conducts staff development for curriculum implementation of CTE.
• Communicates vision and goals to school faculty, staff and builds CTE program support.
• Must be willing to drive to schools.
• Coordinates/facilitates professional learning communities.
• Locates and assists with purchasing appropriate resources, instructional materials, supplies and equipment.
• Assists with marketing, communication, and recruitment efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
