Job summary

Applitrack invites applications for a Mentor Teacher CTE Building Construction position in Lincoln County, WV. This contract/hourly extracurricular assignment supports the transition from pre-service education to professional teaching during the first year in the district.

The role involves advising a beginning teacher/administrator, participating in a professional support team, and attending required meetings with school leadership and the mentor group.

Qualifications

• Valid WV Teaching Certificate.
• Mentor teacher training.
• Experience and degree in the same teaching field preferred.
• Located in the same school (preferred).
• Proven evaluations over the last two years.
• Ability to collaborate with mentor support team.

Responsibilities

• Weekly observations of the beginning teacher/administrator.
• Weekly meetings with the intern to discuss performance.
• Attend monthly mentor support team meetings.
• Assist in identifying staff development needs for beginners.
• Model a variety of educational strategies.
• Demonstrate effective professional behaviors and communication.
