Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a CT technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations across all ages, ensuring accurate imaging for physician interpretation. The role includes weekend shifts with on-call rotation and requires ARRT CT registration within 1 year, plus SC licensure.

Compensation & Incentives
  • Sign-on bonus: $10,000
  • Relocation assistance: Up to $5,000 for eligible candidates
  • Shift Differentials: up to $5.30 per hr (depending on shift)
  • Additional pay: (call pay, overtime etc.)
Shift Details:
  • Schedule: Weekend Days
  • Hours: Fri - Sun, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Call requirements:Participation in the on-call rotation is required approximately once every three months.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize all CT imaging resources to perform high-quality CT examinations

Required License Certification and Registration:

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience: 0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience, at least 1 year of X-Ray experience.

Required Registration/Certification:
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required.
  • ARRT CT Registration must be obtained within 1 year in this position.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHArecognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider

Examples include:

To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100

additional pounds, assistance will

be required from another healthcare worker.

20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet.

25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and

recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between

colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
