Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations, including pediatric imaging, on a 36-hour weekly schedule. Join a team using advanced CT technology and collaborate with radiologists to support patient diagnosis.

The role requires graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT CT registration within 12 months, SC licensure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • 0–2 years of modality-specific experience, at least 1 year of X-Ray experience.
  • ARRT registration required (CT within 1 year).
  • SC Radiation Quality Standards licensure required.
  • Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize all CT imaging resources to perform high-quality CT examinations.
  • Provide CT imaging services on pediatric patients.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient imaging for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain image quality standards and follow established CT protocols.
  • Deliver compassionate patient care while ensuring patient safety during examinations.
  • Operate CT equipment safely in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to support diagnosis and treatment.

Job Description Summary

$10,000 sign-on bonus + up to $5,000 relocation assistance available CT Technologists at MUSC play a critical role in capturing detailed cross-sectional images using cutting-edge CT technology, including networked CT units, dedicated protocol support, and the only photon counting CT in South Carolina. As a CT technologist at MUSC, you will be aiding in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions, collaborating closely with other care teams to ensure high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical environment.

Compensation & Incentives
  • Sign-on bonus: $10,000
  • Relocation assistance: Up to $5,000 for eligible candidates
  • Shift Differentials: $2.30 per hr (depending on shift)
  • Additional pay: (call pay, overtime etc.)
Shift Details:
  • Schedule: Weekdays
  • Hours: Sun-Tues 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Call requirements:Participation in the on-call rotation is required approximately once every three months.
  • Holiday expectations:Rotating Schedule
Responsibilities

Education:

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience

0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience, at least 1 year of X-Ray experience.

Required Registration/Certification:
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required.
  • ARRT CT Registration must be obtained within 1 year in this position.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHArecognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider

Examples include:

  • To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker.
  • 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet.
  • 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.
