Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT exams, prepare patients, administer contrast, and ensure image quality while coordinating with Radiologists. The role emphasizes radiation safety, patient care, and adherence to strict infection control practices.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, reviewing clinical history, and supporting invasive procedures. The position requires ARRT/NMTCB certification and BLS, with rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and ARRT CT registry within 1 year of hire.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Verify orders with Radiologist before performing exam.
• Prepare patients and explain procedures using two patient identifiers.
• Review EMR for history and document on requisitions.
• Oversee exam from start to dictation of results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocol.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed.
• Provide basic patient care and respond to changes in condition.
• Perform CT scans and assist during invasive procedures with sterile technique.
• Obtain medications or contrast as directed by licensed practitioner.
• Maintain radiation safety for staff and patients.
• Report equipment malfunctions and maintain safe environment.
• Rotate shifts including call, holidays, and weekends; follow attendance policy.
• Operate radiology computer system; document contrast in MAR.
• Keep work areas neat and stocked; assist other staff.
