Job summary

Atrium Health Union West is seeking a CT Technologist I to operate CT scanners and related equipment in a fast-paced radiology department. The role requires adherence to departmental protocols, patient care, and collaboration with Radiologists to ensure high-quality imaging.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, preparing patients, obtaining medical histories, and maintaining safety standards. Weekend shift is required; a sign-on bonus is offered for eligible candidates and benefits are

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT within one year of hire required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient.
• Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam.
• Contacts ordering provider when there are discrepancies.
• Properly identify patients using two identifiers and assist them with explanations of procedures.
• Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents on appropriate worksheets.
• Interviews patients for a complete medical history.
• Reviews EMR for pertinent clinical history.
• Records medical history on requisitions.
• Assists in CT exam from start to finish and dictation of results.
• Gathers documents contrast administration in MAR and ensures safety procedures.

Education

Graduate of an ARRT-recognized program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology
