Job summary

UPMC Hanover is seeking a CT Technologist to support the CAT Scanner department. This full-time position requires ARRT CT certification, two years CT experience, and CPR/BLS.

The role involves performing CT procedures, administering contrast, and ensuring accurate coding and documentation in RIS/ISITE systems. Candidates must demonstrate clear patient communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• ARRT CT Technologist certification is required.
• Two years CT imaging experience is required.
• Strong CPR/BLS certification as per AHA standards.
• Performance reviews influence promotion eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Performs computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration without constant supervision.
• Uses imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, reconstruct and document image data per protocol.
• Ensures exams are coded and tracked in RIS and networked to ISITE; charges entered.
• Administers PO, rectal and IV contrast per orders and assesses risk factors before administration.
• Communicates instructions to patients and explains procedures to reduce anxiety.
• Performs procedures with independent judgement and appropriate radiation usage.
• Interacts with patients and staff with care and teamwork.
• Identifies patients with two identifiers and follows universal protocol; documents history.
• Demonstrates venipuncture technique and uses power injector per protocols.
