Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking a CT Technologist (PRN) to perform diagnostic radiological CT exams and support cross-disciplinary care teams. The role involves timely procedures, patient communication, and adherence to physician orders while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The qualified candidate will have an accredited radiologic technology program background, Texas radiologic credentials, and ARRT CT(R) certification, with BCLS within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree and graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Preferred: At minimum 1 year experience as a CT Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures in a timely manner; documents required information and communicates to primary physician and direct care staff pertinent information.
• Coordinate and assist in the care of patients assigned in collaboration with other CT technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
• Evaluate patient condition in order to adequately perform CT exams.
• Inform and explain procedure to be performed to patients and what is expected in terms of his/her cooperation.
• Provide comprehensive direct patient care and assures a safe and comforting environment.
• Consult with other staff as necessary to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Assure that the necessary clinical equipment and supplies are available and are safely utilized.
• Possess the knowledge of growth and development of patients across the life span (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
• Perform Point of Care procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and procedure. Document required information and complies with all Point of Care quality control standards.
