Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Georgia is seeking a CT Technologist for a full-time, 36-hour night shift. You will perform CT procedures, ensure image quality, and maintain a safe, compassionate patient experience within a collaborative care team.

You must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, completed an accredited Radiologic Technology program, at least 1 year radiology experience, ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography).
• ARRT-CT – ARRT Computed Tomography.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, capture quality diagnostic images.
• Work independently operating imaging/radiographic equipment safely and maintain ALARA dose.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders; confirm two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast with venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and release patients.
• Document and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; handle transfers/retrieval as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas stocked, transport patients, follow regulatory requirements, escalate to supervisor.
