Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Georgia seeks a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging and patient-focused care on a 36-hour night shift. The role emphasizes safe imaging practices, ALARA principles, and a collaborative care approach within a major health system.

You will perform CT exams, manage contrast administration, and ensure accurate documentation in RIS/PACS while providing compassionate support to patients during their visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) and ARRT-CT certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures following department guidelines to capture diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment independently, maintaining diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders and patient identifiers prior to exams.
• Explain procedures and prep using AIDET to reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and repeat as needed.
• Document and finalize studies in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals as required.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock life-support equipment as needed.
• Coordinate daily workflows to meet timelines and support department operations.
