Job summary

Wellstar is hiring a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a compassionate patient experience at Cobb Hospital. You will work within a collaborative radiology team, applying expertise to procedures and optimizing image quality while keeping dose to a minimum.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT, BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to minimize patient dose.
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures clearly using AIDET and address patient questions.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients, apply markers and shielding as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and repeat/correct as needed.
• Document findings and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies and restock life-support equipment.
• Organize workflows to meet timeframes and support department operations.
• Ensure compliance and escalate issues to supervisor as required.
