Job summary

Wellstar is hiring a CT Technologist for Columbia County Medical Center Hospital in Georgia. You will perform CT procedures, ensure image quality, and maintain patient safety as part of a collaborative care team.

Requirements include ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, radiology experience, and BLS. The role emphasizes ALARA principles, infection control, and accurate RIS/PACS documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of Radiology experience required.
• ARRT-R certification in Radiography.
• ARRT-CT certification in Computed Tomography.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• It may operate imaging equipment independently and maintain ALARA dose.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history, screen contraindications, verify orders and two patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures and post-care clearly using AIDET; address patient questions.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Perform exams and administer contrast with venipuncture using sterile technique.
• Position patients, apply markers, shielding and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and repeat/correct as needed.
• Document accurately and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers/retrievals.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, restock life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes; support department operation and compliance.
