Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist for Columbia County Medical Center Hospital. The role delivers safe, high-quality CT imaging and supports a patient-centered experience in a busy radiology department.

Sign-on eligibility and relocation support may be available. The position is full-time with a Friday–Sunday 6p–6:30a schedule, offering both clinical autonomy and strong team collaboration in Georgia.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment independently and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders with two patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol with venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and release patients appropriately.
• Document promptly in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department flow.
• Maintain compliance and keep areas orderly; assist with transport and clerical tasks.
