Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a CT technologist to assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures following radiation safety protocols. The role includes mentoring junior staff and students in a clinical setting, with emphasis on patient care and image quality.

The candidate should have completed an approved Radiologic Technology program, hold ARRT CT certification or registry eligibility, and maintain an unrestricted license in the state of practice.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT CT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days of employment.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced CT certification preferred within 1 year of CT registry eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and ensure accuracy of procedures.
• Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Independently operate CT equipment per protocol (IV placement included).
• Review patient images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Support departmental operations (inventory, staffing, equipment).
• Maintain confidentiality and adapt interactions for diverse patient populations.
