Job summary

Ochsner Health System Careers is seeking a CT technologist to perform routine and interventional CT procedures with adherence to radiation safety and quality standards. This role serves as a clinical mentor to junior staff and students.

Required completion of an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT CT certification (or registry eligible with 90 days to obtain), and a current state license with BLS.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT CT certification or registry eligibility is required or must obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Current state license and BLS certification are required; advanced CT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and verifies procedure accuracy.
• Operates radiology equipment independently per protocol.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Reviews patient images for diagnostic quality prior to transmission.
• Performs timely quality control procedures per regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts care to patient population with respect for privacy and communication.
• Maintains flexibility in duties and hours; may travel between facilities.
• Performs other related duties as required.
