Job summary

Geisinger in Dunmore, PA seeks a CT Technologist I to perform computed tomography procedures and assist licensed practitioners. You will ensure patient safety, prepare for exams, and document medications and radiation exposure in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• ARRT or NMTCB certification required.
• New graduates must obtain ARRT-R or NMTCB prior to first day of employment.
• Advanced certification within 24 months of hire is expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying ALARA principles.
• Preparing and/or administering medications through vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data.
• Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
• Assisting a licensed practitioner with interventional computed tomography procedures.
• Performing computed tomography procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
