Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a CT Technologist I to perform computed tomography and assist at the request of licensed practitioners. The role requires ARRT or NMTCB certification upon hire, with a path to level 2 advancement within 24 months for many applicants.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, following ALARA principles, and ensuring accurate data handling and image quality. New graduates must obtain registry prior to first day of employment.

Qualifications

• Certification by ARRT or NMTCB upon hire.
• New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or NMTCB prior to first day of employment.
• Applicants hired after March 10, 2024 must complete steps required for advancing to level 2 within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct patient identification, exam preparation, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
• Uses imaging protocol, optimizes factors, and applies ALARA principles for patient safety.
• Preparing and/or administering medications through vascular access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for positioning and quality; ensures data archival and transfer as applicable.
• Educates and monitors students and other health care providers.
• Assists a licensed practitioner with interventional CT procedures.
• Performs CT procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
