Job summary

Atrium Health in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a CT technologist to perform CT imaging, verify orders, prepare patients, and document studies. The role requires ARRT/NMTCB certification with a CT registry within one year of hire and BLS certification.

Expect responsibilities spanning patient prep, contrast administration, image quality review, and collaboration with Radiology staff. The position includes full-time hours on the 1st shift, on-site work, and opportunities for sign-on and relocation

Qualifications

• ARRT Certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, with ARRT CT registry within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examine requests and verify orders, discuss with Radiologist for discrepancies.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and prep with full explanation of procedures.
• Interview patients for medical history; review EMR for pertinent data and document history.
• Take responsibility for the exam from start to final dictated results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast as per protocol and document usage.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed; process additional images or measurements.
• Provide basic patient care and escalate to nursing staff if condition changes; participate in code blue when needed.
• Perform CT scanning and assist Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Rotate shifts, including call backs, holidays, and weekends; adhere to attendance policy.
• Operate radiology computer system to enter orders and document contrast in MAR; keep work area stocked.
• Assist other medical staff during CT exams as needed.
