ARA Diagnostic Imaging - Austin Radiological Association seeks an experienced imaging professional for an Evening/2nd Shift full-time role on-site in Austin, TX. The candidate will perform daily CT scanner check-ups, patient prep, contrast administration, and image review with a focus on safety and quality control.

Qualified applicants have AMA-accredited radiologic technology education, ARRT certification, MRT certification, and advanced venipuncture skills, plus excellent patient

Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA approved radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • MRT certification by the state Medical Board required.
  • Advanced venipuncture proficiency required.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and maintains daily check-ups and quality control on CT scanners as required by credentialing organizations.
  • Reviews requisitions to determine proper study; interviews patients for medical history; prepares patients for exams; administers contrast; positions patient; selects scan parameters and exposure factors; monitors patient during scanning; ensures documentation and file notes.
  • Verifies that all images and notes are transmitted to PACS in a timely and accurate manner.

Position Details

Schedule/Shift: Evening/2nd Shift

Employment Type: Full-time (30+ hrs/week)/FULLTIME

Position Summary
  • Performs and maintains daily check-ups and quality control on CT scanners as required by credentialing organizations.
  • Reviews requisitions to determine proper study; interviews patients for medical history; prepares patients for exams; administers oral and IV contrast; utilizes knowledge of Creatinine meter; explains benefits and risks of contrast to patient; positions patient appropriately; selects scan parameters and exposure factors; monitors patient while scanning; reviews images for quality and abnormalities; adheres to OSHA guidelines; adheres to guidelines regarding radiation protection and recordkeeping; completes documentation and file notations; performs QC and patient tests according to protocol; performs weekly Emergency Crash Cart QC; works cooperatively with radiologist.
  • Performs IV insertion as needed following proper guidelines as established by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Records the patient’s history and any pertinent information regarding their examination.
  • Verifies that all images, tech notes and required documents have successfully transmitted to PACS in a timely and accurate manner.
Desired Professional Skills And Experience
  • Graduate of recognized, approved AMA council of Education program in radiological technology.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certification as Medical Radiological Technologist (MRT) by the state Medical Board.
  • Advanced venipuncture proficiency required.
  • Must possess excellent communication and patient care skills.
