Job summary

Austin Radiological Association (ARA Diagnostic Imaging) in the Greater Austin area is seeking a CT Technologist for day shifts (9:00a–6:00p) at Wilson Parke. You will perform CT scans, manage contrast administration, and ensure quality control and patient safety.

The ideal candidate will be AMA‑accredited, ARRT and MRT certified, demonstrate advanced venipuncture skills, and provide excellent communication and patient care while collaborating with radiologists.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA-recognized radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • State MRT certification by the Medical Board.
  • Advanced venipuncture proficiency required.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily CT scanner QA and quality control as required by credentialing organizations.
  • Reviews requisitions, interviews patients for medical history, administers contrast, positions patient, selects scan parameters, monitors during scanning, and ensures documentation in PACS.
  • Maintains radiation safety and OSHA compliance; supports radiologists in image quality and workflow.
  • Records patient history and ensures all images and notes are transmitted accurately to PACS.

Position Summary:

*CT Technologist | Wilson Parke 9:00a-6:00p

  • Performs and maintains daily check-ups and quality control on CT scanners as required by credentialing organizations.
  • Reviews requisitions to determine proper study; interviews patients for medical history; prepares patients for exams; administers oral and IV contrast; utilizes knowledge of Creatinine meter; explains benefits and risks of contrast to patient; positions patient appropriately; selects scan parameters and exposure factors; monitors patient while scanning; reviews images for quality and abnormalities; adheres to OSHA guidelines; adheres to guidelines regarding radiation protection and recordkeeping; completes documentation and file notations; performs QC and patient tests according to protocol; performs weekly Emergency Crash Cart QC; works cooperatively with radiologist.
  • Performs IV insertion as needed following proper guidelines as established by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Records the patient’s history and any pertinent information regarding their examination .
  • Verifies that all images, tech notes and required documents have successfully transmitted to PACS in a timely and accurate manner.
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
  • Graduate ofrecognized,approved AMA council of Education program in radiological technology.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certification as Medical Radiological Technologist (MRT) by the state Medical Board.
  • Advanced venipuncture proficiency required .
  • Must possess excellent communication and patient care skills.

Final compensation is determined based on education, experience, certifications, and geographic factors.
