Job summary

ARA Diagnostic Imaging (Austin Radiological Association) seeks an experienced Radiologic Technologist to support daily CT scanner QC, patient history intake, contrast administration, and accurate image capture. You will ensure quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The role requires ARRT certification, MRT credentialing, and AMA-approved radiology training, with strong communication and patient care skills. On-site work in Austin, TX, with full-time hours and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized AMA Council on Education radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • MRT certification required by state medical board.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily checks and quality control on CT scanners as required by credentialing bodies.
  • Reviews requisitions, interviews patients, prepares exams, administers oral/IV contrast, explains risks, positions patient, selects scan parameters, monitors during scanning, reviews images for quality and abnormalities.
  • Performs IV insertion as needed following OSHA guidelines.
  • Records patient history and pertinent exam information.
  • Verifies transmission of images and notes to PACS in a timely and accurate manner.

Position Details

Schedule/Shift: Rotating/Float

Employment Type: Full-time (30+ hrs/week)/FULLTIME

Position Summary
  • Performs andmaintainsdaily check-ups and quality control on CT scanners as required by credentialing organizations.
  • Reviews requisitions to determine proper study; interviews patients for medical history; prepares patients for exams; administers oral and IV contrast; utilizes knowledge of Creatinine meter; explains benefits and risks of contrast to patient; positions patient appropriately; selects scan parameters and exposure factors; monitors patient while scanning; reviews images for quality and abnormalities; adheres to OSHA guidelines; adheres to guidelines regarding radiation protection and recordkeeping; completes documentation and file notations; performs QC and patient tests according to protocol; performs weekly Emergency Crash Cart QC; works cooperatively with radiologist.
  • Performs IV insertion as needed following proper guidelines asestablishedby Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Records the patient’s history and any pertinent informationregardingtheir examination.
  • Verifies that all images, tech notes andrequireddocuments have successfully transmitted to PACS ina timelyandaccurate manner.

  • Graduate ofrecognized,approved AMAcouncilof Education program in radiological technology.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certification asMedicalRadiological Technologist (MRT) by thestateMedical Board.
  • Advanced venipunctureproficiencyrequired.
  • Mustpossessexcellent communication and patient care skills.
