Job summary

Radiology Partners in Wisconsin is seeking a CT technologist to perform daily QC on CT scanners, administer contrast, and ensure patient safety. You will verify exams, position patients, select scan parameters, and collaborate with radiologists to maintain image quality.

The ideal candidate is AMA radiologic tech graduate, ARRT certified, MRT certified, with venipuncture proficiency and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and maintain daily checks and quality control on CT scanners as required by credentialing organizations.
• Review requisitions, interview patients, prepare exams, administer contrast, select scan parameters and exposure factors, monitor and review images, and document per protocol.
• Perform IV insertion as needed per OSHA guidelines.
• Record patient history and ensure transmitted images/docs to PACS.
• Collaborate with radiologists to ensure quality and safety standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Performs and maintains daily check-ups and quality control on CT scanners as required by credentialing organizations.
• Reviews requisitions to determine proper study; interviews patients for medical history; prepares patients for exams; administers oral and IV contrast; utilizes knowledge of Creatinine meter; explains benefits and risks of contrast to patient; positions patient appropriately; selects scan parameters and exposure factors; monitors patient while scanning; reviews images for quality and abnormalities; adheres to OSHA guidelines; adheres to guidelines regarding radiation protection and recordkeeping; completes documentation and file notations; performs QC and patient tests according to protocol; performs weekly Emergency Crash Cart QC; works cooperatively with radiologist.
• Performs IV insertion as needed following proper guidelines as established by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
• Records the patient\'s history and any pertinent information regarding their examination.
• Verifies that all images, tech notes and required documents have successfully transmitted to PACS in a timely and accurate manner.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of recognized, approved AMA council of Education program in radiological technology.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Certification as Medical Radiological Technologist (MRT) by the state Medical Board.
• Advanced venipuncture proficiency required.
• Must possess excellent communication and patient care skills.
