Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a CT Technologist to operate CT and radiologic equipment, producing diagnostic CT scans and radiographs under indirect supervision. You will ensure patient records are updated and results are communicated promptly, and collaborate with radiologists to review images and obtain additional views as needed.

The role requires graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, Ohio radiographer licensure, and preferred CT Registry.

Qualifications

Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Must be licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.
One year Radiology Technology experience preferred.
CT Registry preferred.
Manual dexterity to calibrate and operate equipment, position patients, and administer intravenous contrast.
Ability to communicate verbally with patients, physicians and hospital staff.
Ability to lift and position patients.
Completion of training to perform other radiology procedures.
Ability to use computer and file systems for patient records.
CPR certification.
Population-specific competency for diverse patient needs.

Responsibilities

Operates CT and Radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic CT scans and radiographs.
Ensures patient records are properly updated and results are initiated promptly.
Evaluates images with Radiologist and requests additional images as needed.
Assists with invasive procedures as trained.
Performs other assigned duties within training scope.

CT Technologist - Level 1 Trauma / Stroke

Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday (12-hour shifts) / 12pm - 12:30am / Every other holiday

Summary

Operates Computerized Tomography and Radiologic equipment to produce Diagnostic C.T. Scans and diagnostic radiographs, under indirect supervision. Ensures all aspects of patients' records are processed properly to initiate procedure results in a timely manner. Evaluates images with Radiologist, takes additional images as needed or requested. Assists with procedures of an invasive nature. Performs other assigned duties as training and skills allow.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education Required:
1. Graduate of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
2. Must be licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.
Experience & Training Required:
1. One (1) year Radiology Technology experience preferred.
2. CT Registry preferred.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
1. Manual dexterity sufficient to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients, apply and adjust restraining devices and administer intravenous injections of contrast.
2. Ability to communicate verbally with patients, physicians and other hospital employees.
3. Ability to lift and position patients.
4. Successful completion of training to perform other radiology procedures.
5. Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records.
6. Ability to initiate CPR and (CPR Certification).
7. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
Level of Physical Demands:
1. Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
