Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a CT Technologist to join the Radiology Department. This day shift role features 8-hour shifts, a 72-hour biweekly schedule, and on-site work at MetroHealth Medical Center, with a weekend rotation every fourth Sunday and call duties.

Responsibilities include producing high-quality CT images, assisting with CT-guided procedures, coordinating patient scheduling, and educating patients about procedures to ensure comfort.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Registered Radiology Technologist with ARRT.
• ARRT CT credential or obtain within one year of employment.
• Valid Ohio Radiographer License (ODH).
• American Heart Association BLS Certification or obtains within the standard probationary period.

• Produce quality CT images in a variety of settings.
• Assist with CT-guided procedures including biopsies, drain placements, and tumor ablations.
• Patient scheduling and coordination for inpatients and outpatients.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and examinations to maintain understanding and comfort.
• Work with CT staff and care team members to provide quality patient care.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program

ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification

ARRT CT credential or obtain within one year

Ohio Radiographer License (ODH)

American Heart Association BLS Certification

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
• Neuro, MSK, abdominothoracic, and cardiac anatomy
• IV Starts
• Produces quality CT images in a variety of settings
• Assisting with CT Guided Procedures including biopsies, drain placements, and tumor ablations
• Patient scheduling and coordination for inpatients and outpatients
• Educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and examination to maintain basic understanding and comfort.
• On the spot critical thinking
• Effective communication skills
• Functions well under stress and with minimal supervision
• Works well both independently and as part of the CT Team

Personnel CT Tech Will Work With

• The CT staff work closely with Nurses, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists and other care team members throughout the hospital to provide the best care possible for all MetroHealth patients.

• All CT scanners are ACR Accredited
• Brand new Siemens edge and dual source Force scanner
• Fuji 256 ED specific unit
• GE PET scanner 256
• All CT Technologists credentialed through ARRT
• Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing CT (Computed Tomography) scanning equipment in the diagnosis of diseases in humans.
• Provides a safe and supporting care environment for patients undergoing procedures involving the use of CT, while assisting the radiologists and nursing staff during those procedures.
• Functions in a multi-purpose role depending on the needs of the patients and the department, and in line with The MetroHealth System approved policies and procedures in accordance with specific governing ODH regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
• Registered Radiology Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• ARRT CT credential or obtains within one year of employment.
• Valid Ohio Radiographer License (ODH)
• American Heart Association BLS Certification or obtains within the standard probationary period.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year related experience, as well as advanced certification through the ARRT in CT.

Physical Requirements

• May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
• May need to lift, pull or push over 50 lbs.
• May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
