Job summary

Summa Health is seeking an Imaging Associate - MRI at the Akron City campus. The role involves transporting patients to radiology, assisting staff, and following handheld-directed workflows to ensure timely MRI testing.

Ideal candidates communicate clearly, manage multiple tasks, and can operate standard computer systems and handheld devices. A high school diploma and basic math skills are required; healthcare experience is preferred.

16 hours per week / 2 days a week rotating day / 8:00am - 4:30pm

Imaging Associate - MRI

Summary

Responsible for transporting patients to and from the radiology areas. Assists medical and technical staff in routine daily activities. Follow patient transport directions on a handheld device that is assigned and used during the shift. Takes direction from staff members to ensure patients receive their testing in a timely manner.

Formal Education Required

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.

Experience & Training Required

• Healthcare related experience preferred.

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

• Ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, and hospital employees.
• Proven ability to read and write English and follow written instructions.
• Must be able to use computer systems and basic Window applications, including proficiency with a mouse and bar code reader.
• Ability to calmly handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Recognizes emergency situations.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

• Possess computer skills to complete mandatory training.

Level of Physical Demands

• Exerts 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.
• Ability to lift and position patients, push, and pull heavy carts and to stand and walk for an entire shift.
• Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment from a stationary position.
• Possible exposure to hazardous materials.

Salary

$15.96/hr - $19.16/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
