Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Georgia is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high‑quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. You will work with a collaborative care team and operate CT equipment following ALARA principles.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography).
• Certifications: ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography).
• Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely, maintaining diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules and report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and use two patient identifiers for exams.
• Explain procedures and prep using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast with venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients, apply markers and shielding as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and perform repeats if needed.
• Document accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals as required.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with life-support equipment as needed.
• Organize daily workflows to support department efficiency and compliance.
• Support operations, keep areas stocked, and elevate issues to supervision.
